I’m the artist behind Sketched by Jess, and I’m so excited you’re here.
I create live fashion illustrations at weddings, parties, and brand events, capturing guests in the moment and turning them into beautiful keepsake artwork they can take home.
For me, it’s about more than just the drawing itself.
It’s about creating a moment.
The excitement of watching a sketch come to life.
The laughter when someone sees themselves on paper.
The joy of leaving with something completely unique.
Where it all started
My love for drawing started early; growing up in the back room of my parents’ mechanical workshop.
My sisters and I spent hours doing arts and crafts, with animated movies playing on repeat in the background. I became fascinated by how expressive the characters were, and I’d spend hours trying to recreate them myself.
What started as sketching cartoon characters slowly grew into something more…a lifelong love of drawing people.
Fast forward…
I’ve now been working as a freelance illustrator for over six years, primarily creating commissioned portraits.
Through that work, I developed a deep appreciation for creating artwork that feels personal and meaningful to the person receiving it. It’s not just about how something looks; it’s about how it feels.
Live illustration is a natural extension of that.
Instead of creating artwork later in a studio, I get to draw it right there - in the middle of the celebration, surrounded by people, energy, and real moments unfolding.
My ‘why’
What I love most about live illustration is the energy it brings to an event.
Guests gather around the table, watch the drawings come together, and get excited to see the final result. It becomes part entertainment, part keepsake, and a moment people remember long after the event is over.
It’s one of those things that starts small…and then suddenly becomes a whole moment.
Every illustration is drawn individually, so each guest receives something that feels truly personal.
At the heart of what I do is a simple idea: everyone deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and beautifully illustrated.
My goal has always been simple.
I want every person who steps up to my illustration table to feel welcome, comfortable, and completely themselves. I want them to recognise themselves in the artwork - not just how they look, but how they feel. That’s why every piece is created from scratch, with care and attention, so it feels personal, thoughtful, and a little bit special.
